JAMB approaches to ease problem, says candidates can write post-UTME in their first choice institutions
JAMB to re-post candidates with lower scores to other universities
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has said it will re-post candidate who wrote the UTME and scored above 180 but whose scores are less than cutoff marks of their respective universities to a particular institution,This news was made available in statement signed by the Head of Media and Publicity of the board, “Fabian Benjamin, that was made available to the public on Sunday in Lagos.
It said that the recent admission policy which occur at the University of Lagos was aimed at ranking the Nigerian Universities admit only the top best as was done globally..On Wednesday, July 22, it was on the page of the newspaper that some of the candidate’s parents and guidance were standing to protest at the University of Lagos gate over the high cutoff marks for the 2015/2016 post-UTME screening set by the institution.
Over the development that was taken by JAMB board has redistributed the other candidates with cutoff marks less than what their respective first choice institution requested for to attend the post-UTME screening. “(The board), Also advice parent of the affected candidates to check its website from Friday, July 31 2015 for their names and institutions they are placed in for the post – UTME,”
